NG de France, a cosmetics company that in spite of the name was founded by Brazilian entrepreneur Junior Diego Becker, has invested R$10 million of its own capital to build a factory in Osório, Rio Grande do Sul. The company will compete in the segment of organic hair products for beauty salons with the brand NG de France.
The name, is homage to Nelly Grosjean, a French perfumist who has developed essences used in perfumes of brands including Chanel, Dior and L’Occitane. Ms. Grosjean owns Biossentiel, French company of organic oils for aromatherapy, present in Brazil since 2011 and with €50 million in annual global sales.
The company uses organic essences developed by Ms. Grosjean to produce its cosmetics. The products’ aromas contain on average 30 to 50 essences in their composition. The company began to produce in October 2014 to offer samples to beauty salons. The goal was to launch the brand after one year of operation, but in December 2014 the company already had orders from salons in 15 states. The plan is not to be the largest cosmetics company, but the best in the segment of organic and vegan products.
NG de France currently has 49 products, including shampoos, conditioners, moisturizers, mascaras and a semi-permanent anti-frizz product (“definitive smoothing”) without formaldehyde and glyoxylic acid. In the future, the company also plans to produce perfumes with Ms. Grosjean’s essential oils.
The cosmetics are sold only to beauty salons. The lines for home care are sold through salons. The company says there are no plans to retail sales. The company also says it has received orders to export lines to China, Japan, Sweden, France and the Middle East.
