The group Chinese (China) Communications Construction Company (CCCC) has interests in infrastructure, heavy equipment, and dredging services. Less than a year after inaugurating its South American regional office, in São Paulo, it has agreed to purchase Brazilian builder Concremat Engenharia for R$350 million. The deal still has to pass antitrust scrutiny.
Chinese giant had been seeking a certified engineering company to work on Brazilian projects, where it intends to invest $1 billion in the medium term. Concremat confirmed it had signed a preliminary agreement, with the terms and conditions to be defined at a later date. CCCC concluded the acquisition for 350 million reals.
CCCC signed an investment accord to acquire 51% (concluded in September 2017) of the new port in São Luis (Maranhão), which would be built in partnership with WPR. The new port is R$ 2 Billion investment by CCCC. In March 2018, five years after being conceived the port became reality.
In 2016 CCCC registered total revenues of US$ 66 billion and profit of US$ 2.6 billion.
